You might be interested to know that I read where Jerry Reed Said in the beginning of his Guitar Playing Career he practiced 16 hours a day.
I read where Chet Atkins wrote that he practiced 8 hours a day, every day of his life, in addition to his professional playing. And Chet said that he would never let a day go by unless he put in his 8 hours of practice.
If Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins Needed so much practice, how much practice does the average Guitar Player need to be good?
After reading how much time Jerry Reed and Chet Atkins put in practicing the Guitar I thought I might need 14 hours a day. So for three years I practiced 14 hours a day. I was pleasantly surprised to find out what 14 hours of practice a day would do for my Guitar Playing.

Doc Watson loves the Music of Merle Travis so much that he named his son after the Great Guitar Player. This is the greatest tribute that one man can pay to another man. Doc Watson can play the Thumb and Finger Style that Merle Travis Popularized, and to me this is his best style of Guitar Playing. However, Doc Watson is an expert in Flat Picking, and it was his Guitar Playing that made Acoustic Guitar Flat Picking Come into Prominence and endure. Using a Flat Pick Doc Watson can play fiddle tunes on the Acoustic Guitar and play them so well that even Bill Monroe plus Flatt and Skruggs were highly impressed. Doc Watson and Bill Monroe made many recordings together. This shows how much Doc Watson is admired by the most professional musicians.
