Buddy Emmons worked with Shot Jackson to form the Sho-Bud Steel Guitar Company, then Later the Emmons Steel Guitar Company Was Founded. Anyone who plays a Pedal Steel Guitar is to some degree Playing an Instrument with a Design that was influenced by The Pedal Steel Guitar Pioneer, Buddy Emmons.

The Sound of Country Music was changed Greatly after Buddy Emmons and Shot Jackson founded Sho-Bud Steel Guitars. Rock Music was affected Greatly By Pedal Steel Guitar. Most likely the Steel Guitar would have died if Buddy Emmons and Shot Jackson had not Founded the Sho-Bud Steel Guitar Company. 

Buddy Emmons Probably did more to make the Pedal Steel Guitar Respected than any other single person. He had a good foundation in music since he attended the Hawaiian Conservatory Of Music in South Bend Indiana.

Buddy Begin Playing professionally at age 16. In 1956 Buddy Emmons went to Detroit to fill in For Walter Haynes and was discovered by Little Jimmie Dickens who always had a Superior Band Traveling with him. Jimmie Dickens was fast to pickup the Best Backup Musicians when the found them playing locally.

Buddy worked with Jimmie Dickens on the Opry and was discovered by the Nashville Music Community where he most assuredly made his place among the Great Country Instrumentalist with a Career that has produced some of the best Pedal Steel Guitar Music that has ever been recorded.

I have seen Buddy Emmons in person quite a number of time at the DeWitt Scott's International Steel Guitar Convention in Saint Louis. This Convention that features the Top Pedal Steel Guitar Players has been blessed with the Presence of Buddy Emmons Many Times. And needless to say he is always received as a Star of Great Magnitude.
