There is so much to Johnny Cash that it is near impossible to write just a few words about him. The life of Johnny Cash tends to make you think. There is little wonder that there are 47 books written on Johnny Cash and listed for sale on Amazon.com.

I was influenced Greatly By Johnny Cash. I play and sang many of his songs. I actually sing his songs so I can play Guitar on them. I'm really a Guitar Player, but I do sing some. Over the years I have done some of Johnny Cash's Songs as Guitar Instrumentals for Johnny Writes a Good Melody.

Johnny Cash Is a Singer of the People. He expresses so much of what we American Feels. There is no doubt that Johnny Cash is an American Legend in Music.

This Article Explained.

This article is very long. I wondered if it would ever be finished, for it become more complex than I wanted it to be. Perhaps the article is too long for the Net. But it is what it is.

In some ways it is like a Newspaper Article. The most important things are first. You get a pretty good idea of what the whole thing is about right away. And if you stop reading before the entire article has been read, you have most of the good stuff, no matter where you stop. This is not a chronological article. Instead the article jumps around quite a bit.

As you can see there is part 1 and a part 2. Part 2 is written more like a regular article would be written on a Music Star such as Johnny Cash. Part 1 tends to do a considerable amount of analysis. However there is much more than analysis in Part 1.

Part 1 was written after I had written part 2. Part 1 could only have been written because when I wrote part 2 it made me think a lot, and so I started analyzing why Johnny Cash had become so Popular around 1968. When I started writing a kind of introduction to the article, the writing seemed to just take over and write itself. That happens sometime with writers. In writing part 1, things came out which would never have emerged if part 2 had not been written.

In writing this article on Johnny Cash I came to conclusions that were revealing to me. A writer often learns from the things he/she writes, if he/she has something worth writing about, and Johnny Cash is a subject that is worth writing about. And now on to the Article.

Article Part 1

Johnny Cash An American Country Music Legend

Part 1

I have read much on Johnny Cash throughout the years. And of course I lived and listened to Johnny Cash during the time when his popularity was at it's height in 1968, and in the mid 50s when Johnny Cash came on the Scene as part of the Music Revolution that took place during that time period. This having lived and listened to Johnny Cash during the two times he was popular gives me an insight that one cannot have by just reading about a great artist.

I saw two live performances of Johnny Cash--one in the late 50s, and I saw him in late 1961 in Kansas City. Interestingly enough, Patsy Cline was the Opening Act For Johnny Cash on this Large Show in Kansas City. His stage presence was near unbelievable.

Johnny Cash was a man for his times. He helped shape the music of the two time periods when he was so very popular with the young people of this Country. It seems almost ironic that a man who basically sang Country and Folk Music could have been so instrumental in changing music in this great country where at one time Country Music was laughed at by those who lived in the big cities.

As is Bob Dylan, Johnny Cash is an original. He does not follow, he leads.

Because of Johnny Cash making Country Music so acceptable to all Americans, both Blue Collar and White collar, to the Truck Driver and to the Chief Executive Officer of America's largest Corporations, artists like Garth Brooks are now listened to and his records sell in the millions. Because Johnny Cash introduced Country Music to Americans that had never listened to Country Music before, Country Music is now the largest selling Music in the world, and is heard all over the Globe.

Even those in Third World Countries listen to the Country Music that is recorded in this great Country. Country Music, as is all American Music, has been our greatest Ambassador to the rest of the world. I would venture to say that in the African Nations you can find Johnny Cash Records in the homes of those who can afford to buy music recordings. All over Europe I'm sure you will find Johnny Cash Fans.

The language of Music is Universal. Though one might not speak English, they would still get the basic emotional message of Johnny Cash. His appeal knows no bounds in Economic or Ethnic areas of the world.
